Kids’ Convenience

Kids Convenience is a tuition-free convenience for parents/guardians that work outside the home and are unavailable to supervise their children from the end of school day until 5:30 p.m.

The program follows the Chittenango School calendar, but is not in operation on 1/2 days or for emergency closings.

Each day follows a structure and throughout the year a lot gets accomplished.

Develop Social Skills

The kids work together on community projects like raking leaves, filling Easter eggs for the Town of Sullivan Parks and Recreation Dept..

Homework Time and Supervised Computer Center Time

Homework time is an essential part of the daily schedule.  It is required that each student use 30 minutes for school-related homework or for building their reading skills.  Computers are available for looking up information for homework assignments.  The computers are monitored by staff and have parental controls.

Life Skills

The kids learn Life Skills that will help them become self sufficient.  These skills include crafts, cooking and baking, light housekeeping chores, seminars on personal safety, teamwork, and more.

Physical Fitness

Kids are encouraged to get “physical” by organizing a variety of games.  If the weather permits, outside games like basketball, touch football, and frisbee are played.  Indoors they play ping pong, foosball, volleyball, etc.  Good sportsmanship and teamwork are among our goals.

Community Volunteer

Being a community volunteer is a way to foster a desire for the student to give back to their community.  Each year the kids volunteer by setting up tables and chairs for church events, visiting The Grand Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center residents, ringing the bell for the Salvation Army at TOPS, and more!
